A Long Time Coming
This summer was crazy busy. I was running out of room in my garage with all the equipment I have been collecting or want to collect, so I put up a new building. This was an experience and a half doing, and with anything I do, I learned a lot. As with anything there are things I would have done differently.
received my building just as you see it here. I am a working stiff and doing the labor myself was a must, if I were to obtain a building the size that I wanted without breaking the bank.
Poles are in the ground and framing can begin.
A friend and I worked on this after work in the mornings (we worked 3rd shift) and it took about a week to be ready for the foam and concrete.
The red lines is the tape holding the 2″ High density foam together the white is the 1/2″ pex, and the brown is the re-bar on 2′ centers.
Here the roof is half tinned.
Here we are about mid-day through tining the shop. We were able to finish with the sheets that day and trim it out the following week.
Above is how I decided to put the baffles in. The baffles prevent the blown in fiberglass insulation from packing between the ceiling and the roof. A gap between the roof and baffle is needed for ventilation throughout the year.
